California 03:40
I’m gonna take myself to California Tryna get away Tryna get away Like I used to do when I turned 22 I’m gonna take myself through California Tryna get away Tryna get away But I still think of you Same way I always do People watching people walking on the beach Let’s go to Santa Cruz and maybe Carmel-By-The-Sea I’m gonna take myself to California I’m gonna take myself through California Sunday morning driving through the Big Sur fog Whispering the words to all the California songs I’m gonna take myself to California Trying to get away Trying to get away To that oceanview Maybe see some Redwoods too I’m gonna take myself through California Trying to get away Trying to get away Still hung up on you Don’t know what else to do California California California California

I get lost but I’m not lonely baby Going wherever the wind blows Made a friend along the river there We clear our heads watching the grass grow Lately I’ve been feeling There are changes coming Lately I’ve been feeling There are changes coming

1 2 plug it in Take it on the road again Pack a bag, tell a friend Ain’t been home in who knows when First week, second wind Just beginning to begin I’ve been fine but struggling I’ve been fine but struggling I tried but no one answered At the time you were my favorite dancer You were my favorite dancer Spent all of the time And most of the money’s gone But the scientists did find That it wasn't impossible Just need to make some changes Just need to make some changes Just need to make some changes

Antigone 04:18
Been over What to say A record On repeat But the minute I try to speak I stumble Nights With little sleep In vertical reality And days that won't let you be I get lost In the dream But I’m wishing Just the same To know your name Don’t wait for me Antigone Don’t wait for me Antigone Alcohol and cigarettes Never needed no one else Whether fire or just the flame It burns the same Don’t wait for me Antigone Don’t wait for me Antigone

Moonbeams 02:07
Moonbeams on rivers and streams Keep laughing at me But ooh how I wish on that star That you won’t be too far Walking on moonbeams Holding you closer to me Cuz I need your rhythm Walking on moonbeams Holding you closer to me Cuz I need your rhythm

about

These 5 tracks were recorded and produced in 5 weeks starting in the 5th month of 2022. here's why:

In late April 2022, I made my 555th untitled voice memo on my phone which then decided it was too full to do anything, so I dug through these old files and started putting an EP together. The theme of changes came from discovering the angel number 555 being all about big changes and transformation. Track 2 was the actually voice memo #555 (plus some layering); I wrote Antigone like 10 years ago when I thought I needed to write a song in 5 (turns out it just needed Anna Portillo playing harp); the last thing to get added to this album was the wind quintet on Moonbeams which I thought was a nice touch ;) hopefully there isn't lag time between tracks as they're supposed to go from one right into the next... also proud that I managed to do almost all the work for this while Mercury was in retrograde with very few hiccups.

about

Glenwood Crowe Phoenix, Arizona

Glenwood Crowe started in 2015 as a multi-instrument solo project. Then in 2016, after a year of driving around the US getting involved in progressive politics and indigenous rights activism (while producing “Hiking With Glen” for YouTube), I started writing more political music (“Snacks”). Now I'm mostly just trying to play music with friends, tell stories, and sing songs in your living room. ... more
